How we find deals
FlySoFla is a small, independent site for travelers flying from Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Miami (MIA) and Palm Beach (PBI). We're not a travel agency. We find prices, check them, and link you to the airline, hotel or booking site.
1. Watch the routes
Every morning a script pulls cached fares for about 20 popular South Florida routes from our flight-data partner, plus public fare pages. We look across a range of dates, both round-trip and one-way.
2. Compare to what's normal
A fare only counts as a deal when it's below the route's usual range. For that we use each airline's typical prices from the past year and our own price history. Fares that are cheap but normal get labeled cheap, and anything in the usual range is fair.
3. Check that it's a real trip
We flag long layovers, self-transfer itineraries and bag fees. A $60 fare with a 29-hour layover isn't a deal. We also look for savings tricks that follow airline rules: flexible dates, nearby airports, two one-way tickets, and starting from a cheaper hub.
4. Show our work
Every price on this site shows when we checked it and where it came from, so you can verify it yourself. Prices change constantly. The price at checkout is the one that counts.
Mistake fares
Sometimes an airline or agency publishes a fare by mistake, for example a currency or data-entry error. When we find one that is publicly bookable, we send it to subscribers quickly with a clear warning: the airline may cancel it. Under the U.S. DOT's mistaken-fare policy, airlines may cancel a genuinely mistaken fare only if they make passengers whole: a full refund plus reasonable, verifiable out-of-pocket costs. So don't book non-refundable hotels until the ticket has been honored for a few days.
What we never do
- Recommend hidden-city ticketing (booking past your real destination and skipping the last leg). It breaks airlines' contracts of carriage and can get your bags, miles or return flight cancelled.
- Use hacks that exploit booking-site bugs, or publish fares we haven't seen bookable.
- Accept payment to call something a deal.
